Improvements in Language Gains

Improvements in Overall Language Skills

Independent evaluations of Fast ForWordŽ Language outcomes include the Education Commission of the States (ECS), which designated Fast ForWord Language software as a Promising Practice in Reading and stated in 1999 that "Scientific Learning has amassed an impressive array of research data, case studies and anecdotal information related to the success of Fast ForWord Language software in helping a broad population of children with reading and language problems." The full ECS report can be read at www.ecs.org/ecs/ecsweb.nsf.

The Milken Family Foundation analyzed Fast ForWord Language software in a 1999 report "Reading Programs that Work" and stated that "Results are impressive; this was one of the few technologies reviewed that conducted solid experimental studies with random assignment to condition both at the clinical and school implementation levels. The technology was highly successful in improving a series of prerequisite reading skills in at risk students". The Milken report is at http://www.mff.org/publications.taf.
